Watkins Museum Participates in Food Drive

KU students can now donate non-perishable food items at Watkins Museum for this year’s food drive.

The museum placed a Just Foods bin in its entry way to encourage donations for people in need. All the food will go out to homes across Douglas County.

This is the first year Watkins Museum is participating in the food drive. Their public programs coordinator says they are always looking for ways to help in the community.

“That’s a big part of our mission here at the museum and the Douglass County Historical Society. We see ourselves as promoting civic engagement and involvement in the community. We’re all about the community,” said Will Hickox.

Just Foods is specifically asking for healthy food items like canned meats or beans, cereal or pasta.
