Three Topeka Men Arrested in Connection with Mass Street Shooting

Police have arrested three Topeka men connected to the gunfire on Massachusetts Street earlier this month that left three dead and two injured.

Police arrested 20-year-old Anthony Laron Roberts Jr. He faces one charge of first degree murder, two counts of second degree murder, and one count of attempted second degree murder. The United States Marshals captured Roberts in Kansas City, Mo., according to a Lawrence Police press release. It is not known when Roberts will be extradited.

19-year-old Ahmad Rayton is facing a charge of attempted second degree murder. Court documents accuse him of shooting one of the survivors in the leg. Rayton is in the Douglas County Jail with bail set at one million dollars.

Also in custody is 22-year-old Dominique McMillon. His charges include aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and his bail is $25,000. Police arrested both men in Topeka on Monday.

Lawrence Police emphasized that these suspects are not the only people they’re investigating. They are still looking for others involved in the triple murder.

Early on Sunday, October 1, gunfire broke out at the intersection of 11th and Massachusetts street, leaving 22-year-old Leah Brown, 20-year-old Colwyn Henderson and 24-year-old Treymel Dean dead. Two others were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
