Two KCK Men Arrested for Stealing Firearms from Douglas County Home Blog Local News 02/07/201703/11/2017 Tweet The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office arrested two men who broke into a Douglas County home for stealing firearms earlier Monday according to a press release. The two men are Carlos Edward James, 49-years-old, and Andre Lature Jones, 44-years-old. Both are from Kansas City, Kan. James and Jones were arrested on charges related to residential burglary at the 500 block of N1624 Rd. A neighbor reported seeing the two men at a residence in the 500 block of N1624 Rd before 11 a.m. The neighbor knew the homeowner wasn’t home and contacted DGSO. James and Jones left before deputies could get to the home. The Lawrence Police Department and Eudora Police Department stopped James and Jones on K10 near Eudora about 25 minutes after the neighbor’s initial call to DGSO. Both men possessed a shotgun, rifle and a bow which is believed to be from the residence. James and Jones were arrested and booked in the Douglas County Correctional Facility for theft, burglary, criminal damage, and felon in possession of a firearm. DGSO said it has no further information on the incident due to the pending charges.
