Lawrence Child Accidentally Shot Blog News 08/25/201608/25/2016 Tweet At approximately 7:50 a.m., Lawrence police officers responded to reports of an accidental shooting of a six-year-old at a residence in the 500 block of Wisconsin Street. The officers located the child suffering from a gunshot wound inside his residence. According to a statement from the Lawrence Police Department, the child was playing with a firearm when it discharged and struck him in the foot. There were several adult witnesses at the residence, all of which were interviewed by investigators. The child is currently being treated at a Kansas City hospital for non-life threatening injuries and is expected to fully recover.
