Lawrence Police Department to Host ‘Tweet-Along’ Blog News 05/02/2016 Tweet In an effort to increase engagement with Lawrence citizens, the Lawrence Police Department will host their first ‘Tweet-Along’ this Thursday. A uniformed officer and a ride-along officer will live tweet throughout the day, giving followers an exclusive “day in the life” of a Lawrence police officer. Sergeant Amy Rhoads said the Tweet-Along will help the community understand what calls officers respond to most frequently throughout the day. “We’re really wanting to have more of a public engagement with the community,” Rhoads said. “A lot of times they will see major things that happen or read about it in the newspaper, but this will give them more of an opportunity to see what officers deal with on a daily basis.” Officers encourage Twitter users to tweet questions and concerns using their Twitter handle, @LawrenceKS_PD.
