Chipotle’s E-Coli Threat Appears to be Over

The CDC released an update on Monday about the E Coli outbreak affecting Chipotle restaurants saying that the threat appears to be over.

Chipotle saw a drop in sales over a course of two months after a series of two E-Coli outbreaks caused customers to become ill. Communications director for Chipotle, Chris Arnold, said they do not talk about restaurant performance on an individual restaurant basis, but Chipotle has filed two 8Ks that address the financial impacts.

In the 8K filed on January 1, 2015, it was reported that sales were down 30% in December.

Chipotle says they have taken aggressive actions to implement an enhanced food safety program in all of its restaurants.
