KU Football Comes Close to Texas Tech

Quarterback Ryan Willis lead Kansas’s football team back into the game against Texas Tech following an unproductive 20-0 half. The true-freshman completed 35 of his 50 passes for 330 yards, breaking freshman records for all three categories. In just his second start, Willis threw two touchdown passes that helped the Jayhawks climb back into the game. His first score was thrown to Darious Crawley from 10 yards out on a quick screen. The second TD was reeled in by Tre’ Parmalee from 25 yards out to pull Kansas within three points. It was at a score of 23-20, the Bishop Miege-grad threw his only interception of the day, which was returned for a pick-six by the Red Raider defense. The score sealed the loss for KU in a final of 30-20, putting Kansas at 0-6 on the season and 0-3 in Big 12 play. Up next for the football team will be a matchup against undefeated No. 14 Oklahoma State (6-0, 3-0) at 2:30 PM in Stillwater, OK.
