Sexual Assult Crisis Center Blog News 09/23/201510/08/2015 Tweet With the new Burge Union on the horizon the discussions of what will go into the building has begun. One of the ideas is a Sexual Assault Research and Prevention center. The proposal for the new crisis center has been drafted by KU Senator Tyler Childress. Angela Murphy was the Co-Chair of theSexual Assault Task Force who recommended the center to the chancellor and she said, “It would be one of the only one of its kind in the Midwest. And, with the research mission at The University of Kansas, it provides a unique opportunity for research based prevention efforts.” The proposal still is needing approval from both a Senate Committee and full Senate. For the crisis to be built the student fees for all students will be increased by five dollars.
