The football team hangs on for the 35-28 victory over Southern Miss. Chris Harris has 15 tackles for the Jayhawks, with 11 solo tackles. Kerry Meier has a career day with 11 catches for 141 yards receiving, and two touchdowns. Kansas has moved up 7 spots in the rankings from the preseason to number 18 in the country currently.

Mike Lavieri visits with BCS administrator Bill Hancock to discuss the current BCS system. Hancock was previously the director of the Final Four and associate director of the Big 8 conference.

Soccer, Volleyball, and Men's and Women's golf team

KU men's golfer Nate Barbee wins the individual honors at the Jayhawk Invitational while the team finishes second. The women's team finishes sixth at the Kansas State tournament. The women's soccer team splits a pair of games in Oklahoma last weekend and heads to Texas this weekend to play the Aggies and the Longhorns. The women's volleyball team evens their Big 12 record at two and two with a victory over Colorado.
