Tobacco Free Programs receive millions of State and Federal dollars each year to educate and encourage Kansans to quit smoking. Recently these programs received some extra assistance from the state smoke tax.

The smoke tax increased the price of cigarettes and has some smokers reconsidering the cost of their habit.

Not only did the price of a pack increase with the April first tax increase, but so did the number of smokers looking for help quitting.
