International Women's Day honored with domestic violence conference

In honor of International Women's Day, which is on Sunday, Women's Transitional Care Services hosted a conference on domestic violence at the Springfield Suites on the Riverfront Plaza. Speakers focused on the consequences of abuse on children, as well as how social workers can address the religious diversity of survivors. The growing number of Latina immigrants experiencing violence in the home was discussed, and also resources for resiliency and empowerment.
