Local gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people have a new platform to have their voices heard. Tami Albin is currently working on her oral history collection called: Somewhere Over the Rainbow: Oral Histories of GLBTIQ people in Kansas. The collection features interviews with gays, lesbians, bisexuals and transgenders that reside in Kansas.

A forum was held at the Ecumenical Christian Ministries building earlier today to promote the project and inspire dialogue on the content. A large crowd gathered for the public forum to hear Albin discuss her collection. Thad Holcombe, Campus Minister for ECM, believes that the forum itself is a way of bridging the University and the town. "When research goes on that we think is important we make it available to people," Holcombe said.

There are four more forums this semester, all open to the public. For forum topics visit the ECM Web site.
