Watkins welcomes KU students, faculty, staff and retires to come to its Urgent Care center to receive their flu vaccination. The vaccine is offered as either a shot or nasal spray.

Watkins remembers the extent to last years harsh flu season and urges everyone to get vaccinated, especially those living in student housing.

When you live with the same people for a long period of time your immune systems adapt to each other. When you live in student housing, you expose yourself to a lot more germs and have a higher chance of getting sick.

Flu activity typically does not reach its peak in the U.S. until January or February according to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention .

The flu vaccine will be available Wednesday, October 22 through Thursday, November 20. More information on times and locations can be found online by visiting www.studenthealth.ku.edu .
