The University of Kansas football team (3-1) did not play this weekend, but other Big 12 teams won and moved up in the rankings.

No. 2 Oklahoma University (4-0) defeated No. 24 Texas Christian University (4-1) 35-10 on Saturday and moved into the top spot in the polls after No. 1 USC (2-1) lost to unranked Oregon State University (2-2). Sam Bradford, OU quarterback, threw for 411 yards and four touchdowns in the victory.

The University of Texas (4-0) also won on Saturday, 52-10, beating the University of Arkansas (2-2) in a game that was rescheduled from Sept. 13 due to Hurricane Ike. Colt McCoy, UT quarterback, only had two incomplete passes in the game, yet he completed three touchdowns and rushed for two more. Texas moved up two spots in the AP poll to No. 5 following the victory.

Overall, the Big 12 went 5-2 in its final weekend of non-conference play. The University of Kansas will start their conference season on the road this weekend when they play the Iowa State Cyclones (2-2) in Ames, Iowa. The game will begin at 11:30 a.m.
