Lawrence residents can now skip the waiting room at their family doctor and head to the pharmacy to get diagnosed. Walgreens at Sixth and Kasold now provides medical diagnoses along with the filling of prescriptions.

The store has added a walk-in clinic to its pharmacy. Patients are seen by board-certified family nurse practitioners. The clinic diagnoses and treats most common illnesses including allergies, skin conditions, minor injuries and physical exams.

Diana Graves, Lead Nurse Practitioner, said, "When you arrive, simply sign in on the touch-screen computer kiosk to provide the needed information like full name, birthday and the reason for the visit." Graves also said services will soon be expanded to include cholesterol screening.

Most insurance policies are accepted. For those who are not, the patient fee is $59. You must be at least seven years of age to visit the clinic. The clinic is open Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on weekends.
