Stumble It!The Lawrence City Commission approved a request by Lawrence's Pipeline Productions Tuesday night for an outdoor concert to be held in downtown Lawrence.
The concert will feature alternative country-rock band Wilco. Wilco is a Grammy-winning group. The group performed in Kansas City two years ago, producing ticket sales from 26 states. The concert will take place near the intersection of Ninth and New Hampshire streets.
"They're a rock band. They're from Chicago now. Critically Acclaimed, Rolling Stone, all the critics love them. You know many people think they are one of the two or three best rock bands in America right now," Brett Mosiman, president of Pipeline Productions, said.
According to the special event permit, approval of the request permits the live outdoor concert to take place May 14, 2008 from 6 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
