Radiohead released its newest album, "In Rainbows," at 12 a.m. Wednesday. Fans can download the songs on the band's Web site and pay as much, or as little, as they want to for the music. The album will not be sold in stores.

Jerry Morton, owner of CD Tradepost, 6th and Monterey Streets, said that although Radiohead's marketing plan is unique, he doubts it will change the music industry.

"I think some of the more successful artists might follow suit," he said. "And while it looks like it's something that could shape the future, I don't think it will shape the future."

Radiohead's idea is possible because the band is no longer under contract with a record label. Fans who want more than a digital copy of the album will have the opportunity to purchase a special edition boxed set featuring the new CD later this year, according to the band's Web site.
