One local resident said it was insensitive for the Danish and Norwegian newspapers to publish the cartoons depicting the Prophet Muhammed.
"It was just very hurtful on two levels. The cartoons themselves were very harmful to Islam, and on top of that they depicted the Prophet which is something specifically forbidden in our religion," said Bazihga Tufail, a member of the Muslim Student Association.
A European cartoon depicting the Prophet Mohammed has left tens of thousands of Muslims up in arms.
A Danish and Norwegian newspaper printed the cartoons which set off a worldwide out cry. Many Muslims felt it was a blatant disregard for their religion because the Islamic religion forbids the depiction of the Prophet Mohammed.
In response to the cartoon, Muslims have begun boycotting Danish businesses resulting in more than a $1 million loss a day. Danish organizations also are being threatened in 20 Muslim countries.
While most news organizations have censored the cartoons, many of the images can be found online through Google's image search.
