KU's award-winning police cars on display

The University of Kansas public safety office displayed its prize-winning police cars in its parking lot Thursday afternoon.

More than 200 agencies participated in a police car design contest sponsored by Law and Order magazine last summer, and KU's public safety office won third place.

The office plans to donate its award money to the Red Cross.

This was the first time that all three winners in the contest were universities.
