: Kansas senior volleyball player, Paula Caten, is the first Jayhawk to ever be named a ESPN The Magazine Academic All-American. Earlier this year, Caten also became the first Jayhawk to earn 2005 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District honors.
Caten is a communication studies major and has maintained a 4.0 grade point average.
Athletically, Caten finished the season averaging 3.17 kills and 2.29 digs per game, also helping Kansas to reach its third straight NCAA Tournament. In her Junior season, she started all 31 matches and was named 2004 Big 12 Newcomer of the Year.
At Barton County Community College, Caten was a two-time junior college All-American.
