Track starts season

The Jayhawk track and field teams kicked off the indoor track season in Manhattan, Kan on Saturday in the K-State All-Comers meet.

KU's Aaron Thompson won the 60 meter hurldes in 7.96 seconds and Matt Baysinger won the 600 yard run in 1 minute, 12.28 seconds.

Janiece Gatson placed third in the 600 yard run at 1 minute, 26.03 seconds. Charisse Bacchus ended up third in the 60 meter hurdles and Shatoya Hill placed third in the triple jump.

Other top four finishers included, Jarell Rollins in the 400 meter, Adrian Ludwig in the 1,000 meter run, Julius Jiles in the 60 meter hurdles and Josh Kirk finishing fourth in the pole vault.

Both the men and women's 4 by 400 meter relays placed third.

Kansas gets a month of rest until they run in the Arkansas Invitational in Fayettebille, Ark, Jan. 13.
