Big 12 honor for Kemp

After an impressive 49 minute, 11 rebound and career-high 28 points against Wisconsin Sunday afternoon, KU senior forward, Crystal Kemp was named Big 12 Player of the week on Monday.

Kemp scored 20 of her 28 points in the second half of overtime in KU's come from behind, double overtime victory against the Badgers Sunday. Defensively, Kemp held Wisconsin's center to under 10 points and seven rebounds.

Kemp is the first KU women's basketball player to receive a Big 12 weekly honor since Aquanita Burras was named rookie of the week in 2002. The last player of the week from the Jayhawks was Lynn Pride in 2000.

The 7-0 Jayhawks look to continue their winning streak Sunday at 1 p.m. when they face Florida International at Allen Fieldhouse.
