A three-day art sale began on Monday at the Kansas Union and featured the work of about a dozen KU students.
At the sale, you can find the perfect holiday presents, from paintings to scarves, and your money goes right back to the artists. 80 percent of the profits from the sale will go to the artists, and the rest will fund the sale itself. This is the first year for the sale which was organized by Student Union Activities. Organizer Michelle Tran said the sale was a great way to support local artists.
"We really want to support local artists, especially students who are developing their work and also give people an opportunity to buy artwork," Tran said. "A lot may be less expensive than maybe going somewhere else just because there are students and they are going through the learning process."
The art sale continues Tuesday and Thursday in the Kansas Union lobby from noon until 2 p.m.
