Eudora was the location of a major drug bust last night.

Police said they found an AK-47 assault rifle, methamphetamine, marijuana, at least five pipes, and body armor at the southwest Eudora home.

A four-week investigation led police to the house last night around 7 p.m. on suspicion of drugs. They arrested a 22-year old man who lived with his family. Police booked him into the Douglas County Jail and then brought in a K-nine unit. The drug dog found a metal box that contained the drugs and drug paraphanelia.

Police officers said they were surprised to see such a large bust in a small town like Eudora.

"I've never had an incident like this where weapons were found of this nature along with any type of ballistic body armor," said Greg Dahlen, Eudora Police Dept.

The suspect was charged this afternoon in Douglas County District Court.
