Actress Rose McGowan made her first public speech since accusing producer Harvey Weinstein of sexual assault almost 20 years ago.
McGowan spoke at the Detroit Women’s Convention last night after many years of silence. She took shots at the Hollywood system and what she says is “the misogynistic culture it promotes.” More than 60 women have accused the producer of some form of sexual misconduct since his harassment went public. She urges her “Rose Army” to call out the injustice and to support victims who come forward.
A spokesperson for Weinstein said last week that “Mr. Weinstein has further confirmed that there were never any acts of retaliation against any women for refusing his advances.”
