No. 3 Kansas continues its road swing tomorrow in Lubbock, Texas to take on the Texas Tech Red Raiders.
Kansas has the momentum following their 74-71 win at Kansas State on Wednesday in the Sunflower Showdown, while Texas Tech lost to TCU by just one point, 62-61, on Tuesday.
The team took some much needed time off in between that game and tomorrow — it was clear the Jayhawks’ were on the verge of exhaustion after playing 4 games in just 10 days.
The Jayhawks are averaging 83.6 points per game, averages 39.8 rebounds per game, and leads the Big 12. Overall, Kansas is 21-3 currently and 9-2 in Big 12 Play.
The Red Raiders are 16-8 overall and 4-7 in the Big 12. Tech is average 75 points per game, average 33.1 rebounds per game and is 7th in the Big 12.
Many of KU’s recent games have been decided by less than 10 points, which head coach Bill Self believes does not reflect on how his team has been playing.
Tipoff is at 1 p.m. and the game will be televised on ESPN.
Next up: Kansas returns home to host West Virginia on Monday, at 8 p.m.
KU will try for the Guinness World Record for the largest indoor crowd cheer. Kentucky set the record when they hosted KU in January of this year at 126.4 decibels.
