The App “Pocket Points” Rewards Students for Staying Off of Phones Blog News 11/11/2016 Tweet What college student doesn’t want a free or discounted meal? The app “Pocket Points,” which has recently soared in popularity at the University of Kansas, allows students to earn free and discounted items. Pocket Points rewards students for staying off of their phones during class. For every 30 minutes a student’s phone is locked, they get one point. The more points you get, the more deals are made available to users. Students can use the app to get deals at restaurants and businesses in Lawrence and online. Lawrence has 30 businesses and restaurants that accept pocket points. One restaurant, Fuzzy’s Taco Shop, offers free chips and queso with any purchase to a student with at least 45 points. Pocket points can be downloaded in the app store for both Apple and Android phones.
