The Headquarters Counseling Center is known for answering calls for the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline.
Currently, the center is actively trying to secure $90,000 in funding by Dec. 5.
Because the center does not receive support from the government, they rely on the University of Kansas Student Senate for financial support.
However, many potential sources for funding in 2017 are no longer viable. Now, the center is attempting to raise the money it will no longer receive.
The center has an online campaign called “Save the HQ” where people can use the hashtag “#SaveHg” and donate. The center will also have a percentage night at Merchant’s Pub and Plate on Nov. 22 in order to raise more funds.
