Six years ago, Crystal Voth was offered the chance to learn the ins and outs of running a deli. Voth fell in love with cooking, and four months later, her own restaurant, Auntie Em’s, was up and running.
“I didn’t realize how much I would love it until I started to get to know the customers, and then they became friends. One of the things that was important to me was that we were a shop around the corner, not a franchise,” Voth said. “I have quite a few people that come in every day. And you know, you look forward to that.”
Many customers have become close to Voth and her grandson Tucker, who can be found in Auntie Em’s everyday after school.
Whether you’re sick and need soup, craving a sweet treat, or just want a really fresh deli sandwich, there’s a spot at Voth’s table for everyone.
