Upcoming Kansas Caucus Brings Candidates to Lawrence Area

Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz is hosting a rally this afternoon in Overland Park at the Johnson County Community College.

Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders will hold his rally tomorrow in Lawrence.

The rally will begin around 7 p.m. at the Douglas county fairgrounds.

Doors will open at 4 p.m. and admission is first come first serve.

These events are leading up to the Kansas Caucus on Saturday.

Caucus goers must be registered as a member of the party they intend to caucus for in order to vote.

In Lawrence, Democrats can caucus at central middle school off of 15th and Massachusetts or warren middle school off of new Lawrence road and Gatewood Street. Members of the Democratic Party can register to vote at the door from one to three. The caucus begins at three.

Republicans can caucus at southwest middle school off of 27th and Iverness drive. Members of the GOP must have registered by February fourth of this year to participate in the caucus. Voting is open from ten am till two p.m.
