This week the ESPN No.3 ranked recruit in the 2016 class, Josh Jackson, narrowed down his college choice to three schools, one of which is KU.
Jackson is a 6-7 small forward from Southfield, Michigan. Scouts have described him as a tough and extremely athletic forward with a big mouth after being awarded the “Biggest Trash Talker” in AAU by USA Today.
Other than Kansas, Jackson’s final schools also include Michigan State and Arizona.
The pull to Michigan State stems from his interest to play for his home state school. As for Arizona, Jackson has ties with head coach Sean Miller. Last summer Miller coached Jackson on USA’s 19 and under team which won a gold medal at the World Championships.
“It’s been a little tough on me, kinda stressful” said Jackson on his looming selection. “I feel like I’ll be able to make a decision within the next month or so.”
Next season KU hopes to pair Jackson with recently signed center Udoke Azubuike, who ranks No.22 on ESPN.
