When emergency respondents found the man at about 8 p.m. he was in critical condition, said Lawrence Police Sgt. Ted Bordman. Immediately the victim was transported to a nearby trauma center and was later brought to a stable condition, police added. At this time Bordman says police are investigating whether or not the victim knew the attacker and if the stabbing even occurred at the apartment or some place else. Numerous residence of the Haskell Apartments said they were aware of the incident, but none knew who the man was or had any idea as to why it happened. On Saturday night no arrests were made and Bordman said there were currently no suspects. Since Saturday night the investigation has been ongoing but nothing further has been brought to light. Sgt. Trent McKinley says he hopes that in the next couple days the detectives on the case will discover more information.
