Sunday afternoon the University of Kansas football program continued its rebuilding process by landing two recruits in both the 2016 and 2017 classes.
The two players of the 2016 both from Texas, are wide receiver Evan Fairs, and defensive end Isaiah Bean.
Fairs is listed at a 6-foot-3 and 180 pounds and described as very fast with good play making ability. In his senior high school season, Fairs was nominated as a finalist for the Houston Offensive Player of the Year after catching 55 passes for 900 yards and 14 touchdowns.
On the other side of the ball next year, KU will have 6-foot-4, 210 pound Bean, who accounted for the last available scholarship of Jayhawks 2016 class.
The 2017 class, however, gained its second and third members as well on Sunday. Offensive linemen Grant Polley and Jared Hocker announced via twitter they would join the KU football in a couple years.
“What a great weekend in Lawrence,” said KU’s offensive line coach after hearing their commitments.
On Wednesday head coach David Beaty is scheduled to officially introduce twelve new players to the program.
