Democrats gathered on Wescoe today to protest KUs men’s basketball game taking place at the same time as the Kansas Caucus on Saturday.
A group called KU Game Change for the protested on Wescoe Beach on the behalf of ESPN’s decision to schedule the men’s basketball game for 3 p.m. on Saturday, which is the same time democrats across the state begin caucusing.
The 40 plus voters will have to decide whether watching the game is more important than caucusing.
It is expected to conflict with the work of Bernie Sanders base, who has drawn in heavy support for first time voters, as well as Hilary Clinton’s base.
KU isn’t the only school in Kansas who will be facing such issues. KSU will also play their final non-conference game that same afternoon.
