KU Volleyball Leaves for San Diego

KU Volleyball is moving onto the NCAA regional where they face Loyola Marymount. This will mark the second time the University of Kansas has made it to the regional in the last four years.

Loyola Marymount beat there second round opponent, Stanford, in upset fashion. But the Jayhawks aren’t worried due to the help from Sophomore Setter Ainise Havili.

“She’s going to will it to happen and she is a quiet assassin in many ways,” said Head Volleyball Coach Ray Bechard.

Also Junior Libero Cassie Wait recognizes Havili’s support for the team, “She’s our leader, our quarterback. Every single day, day in and day out and in matches, we are so lucky to have her.”

The team looks forward to making the “Unprecedented” run to the Elite Eight, farther than any Kansas team has every gone. “We can hang with the best teams in the country and we are. We’re a top ten program and I think we all realize that.” said Havili.

The regional game for the Jayhawks is set to start at 7:30 on Friday.
