Campus safety is a priority of at KU and other colleges and universities around the country, but the Safe Campus Act that is currently in congress is raising some concerns.
Some say that the bill could hurt more students that it will help. People who oppose the bill say it strips away victims autonomy to choose which route they want to proceed with their particular case.
The National Panhellenic Conference and the North American Inter-fraternity Conference withdrew their support for the bill last weekend.
The resolution has passed through the full senate and will be voted on by the House Committee on Education and the Workforce.
