It’s the fifth most popular application on Itunes, but for many KU students, it is their favorite game. The Draw Something game, available on Apple and Android devices, has exploded in popularity in recent months at KU.
“Draw Something is an application where it’s like Pictionary and you can play with many of your friends at once,” freshman Henry Lisenby, an avid user, said.
The game requires little artistic ability, but it does help to have some. For those that are good artists, it can help build their craft.
One group of students at KU say they play the game to help build their art skills.
“It’s a different way to incorporate things into my work because it helps me make things more rounder, but also more abstract in a way because it’s a different way of thinking,” sophomore Ali Fisher, a graphic design major, said.
Fisher claims the game has helped her improve her graphic design skills.
“It allows me to incorporate different ways I’ve learned through graphic design to draw things,” Fisher said. “I like it because I like doing hand drawn things in my work.”
The game is free for anybody that has access to Itunes or an Android market.
As finals week approaches, students like Fisher will most likely kill time by drawing something.
