The Young Americans for Liberty Group at KU was on Wescoe Beach all day to protest the TSA, or Transportation Security Administration. The group said the TSA violates our constitutional rights by violating our privacy. KU Freshman Anthony Orwick organized the event.
“What’s going on in our airports is extremely invasive,” Orwick said. “Women’s breasts are getting felt and crotches are being grabbed.”
The group fights for civil liberties and is on campus to spread the word about different issues often.
Today, they targeted the TSA.
“In the United States Constitution, it talks about our fourth amendment as being safe and secure,” Orwick said. “They are being taken away at our nation’s airports.”
One student that stopped by their booth, was junior Zharif Shariffuden.
“I travel a lot and I have to go to the airport all the time,” Shariffuden said. “It’s getting pretty ridiculous. You get all these extra screenings.”
The group does not know if they will ever see a change, but Shariffuden said Europe is not as strict, so the United States could look at them for an example.
Good for you! Finally, our young people are standing up against the kind of media and government-driven brainwashing they’ve been exposed to since birth.
